LETTERS AND CONGRATULATIONS
(12/12/2005) Letter from Stanislaw Wrycza, Department of Information Systems, University of Gdansk
Dear colleagues:
We are in the process of establishing a Polish chapter of AIS. If you
have not been involved in this process to date, but are interested in
lending support to the initiative or being a founding member, please
email me with a short message stating your support.
Those with concerns
about the formation of a Polish AIS chapter should
contact the AIS VP
for Chapters and Affiliated at
john.mooney@pepperdine.edu.
Although the formation of the PLAIS Chapter comes in 2005, the Polish
IS community has contributed substantially to AIS and IS community at
large, including the following:
- 10th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2002) was
held in Gdansk,
- International Conference on Information Systems Development ISD
initiated in Gdansk in 1988 and later its 14th editions co-organized at
different universities worldwide; proceedings currently published by
Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers,
- estabishment of Polish Society for Information Systems Research
(NTIE - Naukowe Towarzystwo Informatyki Ekonomicznej) in 1995,
grouping Polish academic IS community.
Regards,
Stanislaw Wrycza
(15/12/2005) Letter from Janice Sipior, Villanova University

Dear Nava,
Below you have the answer of Ephraim McLean.
> Dear Stan,
> No, you do not need to be a Polish citizen to be a member of PLAIS.
> In fact, you may want to reach out to Poles around the world to join.
Therefore welcome in PLAIS!
Best regards
Stanislaw

Subject: Congratulations on your AIS Award
Dear Stanislaw,
Congratulations! Your group is among the 21 AIS SIGs and Chapters to earn the designation of Outstanding SIG or Chapter for 2014. It is part of the inaugural group to receive this recognition.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your annual reports highlighting your groups’ accomplishments in 2014. The groups receiving the Outstanding SIG or Chapter recognition excelled in SIG/Chapter operations, member communications, educational and/or professional development events, and research publications.
Patrick Dockins, AIS Component Relations Manager, will follow up with more information about how you can share this news with your constituents. You can also expect to see an announcement to the AIS membership in the next issue of the AIS InSider e-newsletter.
I look forward to seeing your continued success in 2015!
Julie

Subject: RE: ERCIS and AIS Chapters
Dear Ferdinando, Jan, Stanislaw and Robert,
best congratulations for you all for this achievement! I already congratulated Stanislaw for the student prize, which is also a remarkable win!
Here we see that unfortunately the Scandinavian (should be: Nordic) chapter is too heterogonous to build the needed integrity for such achievements. Chapters built around one national country seem to do better.

Subject: Outstanding SIG and Chapter update
A little while ago you received an email from Dr. Julie Kendell notifying you of your group’s designation as an outstanding SIG or Chapter. Congratulations again on being among the first to receive this recognition!
Attached is a press release template for your use. We were hoping to have the logo ready for your use, but have experienced some delays. We will follow up as soon as it is ready. In the interim, feel free to use the press release template to spread the good news.
Congratulations again on your hard work and thank you for your dedication.
